Poker Terminology: Pot

In poker, the “pot” is referred to all the chips that are in the middle and up for grabs. In a cash game setting, the pot has a monetary value. In a tournament, the pot has a value in tournament chips.

The size of the pot is an important aspect to consider when you are deciding how much money you need to raise or call.

The term “pot odds” using the value of the pot to determine odds.
